setelah berzaman tak memasak, lately asyik rasa nk masak something different..something yg tak pernah try buat sendiri tapi sgt suka makan....wantan mee. sy sgt sgt sgt suka ketul2 wantan yg dlm sup tu. malangnya ketulan wantan tu sgt laa mahal and dlm satu hidangan derang selalu letak just 3 or 4 ketul jer. sungguh bedekut!!! maka hari ini saya telah berjaya masak wantan di rumah. actually saya just buat inti wantan tu sendiri...kulit wantan and mee tu beli yg instant jer. nk recipe? googlekn ajer..taip "traditional wanton recipe" and beratus keluar. semua lebih kurang jer so pilih aje mana yg cam plg common or lebey kurang sama. anyway, here are pics of hasil masakan hari ini:

Jalan-jalan Kuala Kangsar - Oldest Rubber Tree in Malaysia

Here's another history lesson. This time its about the rubber tree..more specifically the oldest rubber tree in Malaysia which is located in Kuala Kangsar, Perak.

Rubber trees originated from South America and in 1876, Henry Wickham gathered thousands of para rubber tree seeds from Brazil, and these were germinated in Kew Gardens, England. From there, the seedlings were then sent to  Malaya (now Malaysia) which later became the biggest producer of rubber. The first batch of rubber trees planted in Malaysia consisted of 9 trees. However, out of the nine, only one survives till this very day.

Located beside the Kuala Kangsar District Office is the oldest rubber tree in Malaysia. This is one of the first nine trees planted in 1877. H.N. Ridley was the person responsible for making Kuala Kangsar the first rubber industry district in Malaysia. As you now know, rubber has since then become one of the most important material in the whole world.

Here are pictures of the oldest rubber tree in Malaysia...

There were also the traditional devices used to process the rubber sap collected from the rubber trees on display near the tree. Some of these devices are still used now by rubber tappers in Malaysia.

Jalan-jalan Kuala Kangsar - Masjid Ubudiah

Situated in Bukit Chandan, Kuala Kangsar, Ubudiah Mosque is one of the most beautiful in the state of Perak. It is a great place to go to for photo shoots if you get married in Kuala Kangsar. (I did mine there too…beautiful!!!) Here’s a sample pic.

Anyways, here’s a little history lesson from little old me about this mosque. This mosque was built upon orders from Sultan Idris Murshidul Azam Shah who was the 28th Sultan of Perak. He built this mosque to fulfill his nazr (which means spiritual vow).

The state government then ordered Colonel Hoxley from the Department of Public Works to design the plan for the mosque. A government architect named Hubbeclk worked on the plan while an engineer named Caufield work on constructing the mosque.

Sultan Idris Murshidul Azam Shah launched the foundation stone ceremony on 26th September 1913. However, for a few years the construction work was delayed because marble slates stored for the mosque was damaged by 2 elephants belonging to the sultan. New marble slates were ordered from Italy but this too got delayed when the World War I started. The Ubudiah Mosque was finally completed in the year 1917 and was then officially launched by Sultan Abdul Jalil Nasaruddin Shah who replaced Sultan Idris as the sultan.

Anyways..here are the pics I took of this magnificant mosque...

Jalan-jalan Kuala Kangsar - Masjid Al-Wahidiah

My husband's "kampung" is Kampung Kuala Dal, Kuala Kangsar. And we spend a few days there a few weeks ago. It is a nice place..still quite a serene kampung with trees all around.  It kind of remind me about my own kampung and those were good memories. I loved the times I spent running around with my sisters and cousins in my kampung. Ahhh..the memories.

Anyways...back to the topic I really wanted to talk about. My father in-law is the imam and also the president of the mosque in Kampung Kuala Dal. Recently, the mosque and the ministry of culture and arts (or is it arts and culture) worked together to refurbish an old mosque there. This mosque; Masjid Al-Wahidiah, is the only mosque in the world to be made from bamboo weavings. I don't remember much about the history of this mosque but I just want to share a few pictures I took of this (now) beautiful mosque.

Here is a picture of the mosque I found from zainudins.blogspot.com taken in 2006...

And here are pictures that I took of the mosque recently...

The keys to the mosque was with someone else so I couldn't go inside the mosque. But, personally I think that this mosque is very unique and actually really very beautiful. As muslims visiting mosques is a good thing to do and I urge anyone who is passing by Kuala Kangsar to just stop a while and visit this mosque. It's not very far from the highway exit..just take the first left from the Kuala Kangsar exit on PLUS and you're there in about 5 minutes.

GATALNYERRRRRRRRR!!!

AaAaaaa!! Tak tahan betol!!

Gatal giler!!

MERENYAMMM!!

Gatal giler rasanya. Ya Allah..tolong~~

Sesungguhnya sungguh menyiksa jiwa dan raga bila kena allergic reaction. Satu badan gatal2. Merah2 semua..dah start naik bengkak2 merata tempat.

Sekadar gambar hiasan (taken from Google)
Nak bernafas pun susah sebab dah berlendir saluran pernafasan. Banyak giler lendir2, hingus tak berhenti2 and batuk.

Nasib baik laa dah pernah kena sebelum ni so tau laa ni semua sebab allergic reaction. Tadi tak sempat jadi teruk lagi terus pegi klinik and mintak doktor jab ubat. Masa first time kena dulu tak tahu apa sebab and main bajet sebab nk selsema...bila badan dah bengkak2 teruk and muka dah takde rupa sendiri dah baru start fikir nk pegi klinik. Time tu nk bernafas pun susah...saluran pernafasan dan sempit sebab saluran dalaman dah makin sempit. Bilajumpa doktor kena marah ngan doktor sepam sebab doktor cakap kalau biar lama sgt boley jadi buta sbb oksigen tak sampai ke organ mata. Scary nyerrrr!!

Maka blog kali ini, saya ingin share tanda2 anda kena allergic reaction. Ada 2 jenis allergic reaction..minor reaction atau reaksi tak teruk dan juga severe reaction atau reaksi teruk.

Tanda2 anda kena minor allergic reaction:
- hives (biji2 atau bengkak2 kecik yg rupanya nk macam kesan gigitan nyamuk tapi di seluruh badan)
- gatal2
- saluran pernafasan yang tersumbat atau berlendir/kahak.
- ruam2
- matah berair atau merah

Tanda2 major reaction:
- sakit2 atau kejang di abdomen
- sesak dada/rasa ketat
- cirit-birit
- sesak nafas
- sukar menelan
- pening2 atau rasa pitam
- resah, rasa takut2 atau tak tentu arah
- muka merah2
- mual dan muntah2
- jantung berdegup kencang
- muka, mata dan lidah membengkak
- lemah badan
- lelah/semput
- pengsan

Selalunya allergic reaction taklah mengancam nyawa..tapi lebih baik terus jumpa doktor kalau anda ada tanda2 seperti di atas.
